Sunday 9 February 2014

little did we know that we were seeing her for the last time on stage........

We would be sharing from today our experiences we had during  programs conducted by srishitlife, we are posting her work as it would create a view about child sex abuse that is critical.

Every day we would be giving one critical point that would give access to understand your child that your child and even you may not know.

Normally we as parents never ever create with the child a domain called conversation about private part even privately maybe because even we are uncomfortable in addressing it, Dr.Raji used to say that in every program we conducted the children don’t even know the name in their mother tongue in a respectful way.

All of us know the name either by a kiddish name like peepee choo choo , abusive slang or very insignificant way!. Pause for a moment and Think if abuse is happening to a child, How do you think he is going to communicate? therefore mother tongue is more appropriate for early teaching of body parts, look into google translate if you are not sure !! knowing the right answer would mean half the job is done.

We will share one story everyday, and today we are going to share one of the programs we conducted!!

This was at vasco deep vihar school and it had a huge hall. The management wanted us to conduct 3 sessions and we had less time as we had to go to cana cona which is situated at the other end of Goa for another Program.

Dr.Raji told that she will manage. It was huge hall with 1800 children + staff. They told us the mike system would not be good enough for the hall, Dr.Raji said she will manage.

She started the program and Alas the power went off. They said wait for 5 mins then 10 mins. Then they told power might not come we have to cancel.

I looked at Dr.Raji and that smile which she gave when she is faced with a challenge. Wow. That is when all of us gear up like the Last over of India-Pakistan match.

She created an immense responses by asking children to take responsibility to listen to the Sound of her name tag when dropped, the children and we really understood that day.(the meaning of pin drop silence).
She did it.

The program went on as Dr.Raji got down from the stage and moved towards the center of the hall and continued to talk.It was mind blowing

The children gave her a promise to be responsible for their body. I still remember when children and all of us closed our eyes and promised.

Dr.Raji was never an emotionally driven person but i saw tears rolled down her cheek and all of us too where moved. This program happened to be the last one she did just before she went for that critical operation/treatment.

We all pray for the blessing of the almighty for her speedy recovery

She changed my life for ever

Shilpa
Dr.Rajlaxmi is the most inspiring person we have ever met in our life. Every member of our family knows her and are her biggest fans. :-)Only after meeting her I learnt what it takes to be a wife, a woman. Dr.Raji gave us an access to neglected human emotions, which made us happy people.I was leading a very non joyful low feeling life, neither me nor my career was attractive, with little or no interest in life.
I went to schools with Dr.Raji, me a shy person went to be an appreciable speaker taking the responsibility of the children of India, even before I knew it shifted in my personal  life and  career.

BEFORE MEETING DR.RAJI
  AFTER MEETING DR.RAJI

My mother in law is dealing with cancer, Dr.Raji has always been with us supporting us.If not for her we could not have dealt with this tragedy as a challenge powerfully.

being with you was a joy

A Moment that touched my heart

SHASHI

It was a moment that touched my heart. Today morning Shashi from koppal (Her story is in the website http://srishtilife.com) called to invite us for the naming ceremony of her daughter. The minute I told her about Raji's health as she was unaware, she paused and told               me clearly

“Nisha dont have any doubt about her health am clear that she will be fine and she will name my daughter”

I don’t know kannada and she does not know english but we had common language in which we understand the emotion, I looked at the phone and could not stop crying when i said thank you. (She has cancelled her baby's naming ceremony indefinitely)

HER WORDS, CONFIDENCE AND CLARITY WAS LIKE OXYGEN TO ALL OF US

I remembered the first day when shashi came to us with her dead-end situation

RAJI TOLD WHEN YOU THINK EVERY THING IS LOST THE FUTURE REMAINS

Doctor Raji is the most beautiful woman we have ever seen. For who we are today is we owe it to our Doctor. We attribute all our success in life to the morale we received from our Doctor. Our life began once we met you Dr.Raji. Today we are together in our relationship is just simply because of her EMPOWERING WORDS and her commitment towards people selflessly.

Every time she smiles it is an action of LOVE
That is the GIFT a person ever can receive.

We can keep on building her good thoughts endlessly. There is nothing greater than her love in this world.

NISHA

Being the M.D, I travelled from Kerala caught up with the team and changed in to my cloths on the way . I had so many doubts, but Raji's words were so clear and loud every moment.
"IT’S ALWAYS ACTION EVERY MOMENT IN A GAME". I never knew that I actually could speak in a ground and I enrolled everyone in the ground to go to our stall. Every one experienced me as a leader.

THANK YOU RAJI! I HAVE TAKEN YOUR GAME FORWARD

PRASHANTH

Dr.Raji has been an inspirational friend to me. When I saw her sick and lying in the bed, my eyes became moist and that is when I recollected that she has contributed to me in so many ways in my life. I never thanked her enough . The only way I could thank her was by taking on the game and I created the stall and ran for the cause.

Thank you Dr.Raji for smiling. When I think of you I only think of your radiant smile in the toughest situation.

HEMADRI
A program without Dr.Raji was like face without smile. I became the person creating happiness and fun. I spoke on stage and my few sentence communicated the intention of our cause. Game without you was tough but not impossible in any Game.

You always told
NEVER BE IN THOUGHTS ALWAYS BE IN THINKING.
Dr.Raji I missed your Presence.

RAJESWARI
I stayed in the stall and when everyone addressed me as Raji and asked me for things to be provided . I had every one call out for " Raji give this, Raji give that, Raji what to do, Raji what’s the count ". I experienced YOU in ME.

I WILL BE THE RAJI YOU WERE FOR THE TEAM.
YOU TOLD "CARE  IS ANOTHER NAME FOR WOMAN".

SRISHTI

My responsibilities to my colleagues at Texas instruments

I am Sharat Chandra originally from Hyderabad but Bangalore is my lovingly adopted city. I work at Texas Instruments at its Bangalore head office.Over the years, I have been a person who rarely got to understand or may be even care for other people's concerns, thoughts or life’s in general.

Social service or a cause which is greater than myself is something I could not think of. All this started to change after I met Dr.Raji and she provided a view that can provide access to a side you did not know.It gave me access to my children. The realization that every child is my(everyone's) child and that they are safe for they are our future leaders dawned on me so late. Like they say, better late than never.

We had invited fellow Srishtians to educate adults at TI as part of adult awareness program on child sex abuse. There was too much trepidation both within me as well as some parts of the management considering the sensitivity of the topic and what people's expectations would be.

Initially when the program started there were only 30% of the chairs filled, Dr.Raji’s talk went on so awesome that she creates responsibility with fun  and leaves people thinking, with in minuets people in the hall where texting their colleagues to come in  and the hall was full. In come the Team and the whole thing went through like a breeze. I cannot forget the rapt attention and interest in the hall with some parents actually surprised on how ignorant they were.

The talk was done and I was standing next to Dr.Raji she was surrounded by my colleagues   who where acknowledging her  and one of them told that she actually wanted to call her child in between the program when she knew how much unaware she was as a parent.I know all of them went back home to their kids having got an access to ensure their children were well protected and well guided in their growth. The most memorable part of the day was a woman who said she wanted to run home to ensure her child was OK.

HATS OF THE SRISHTIANS TEAM WORK !!

THEY HAD HIT THE BULLS EYE

THIS IS WHAT THEY WANT FOR

EVERY CITIZEN OF INDIA.

Many thanks to the team lead by our Dr.Raji who provided a way of life to my colleagues and made their kids powerful. Water rising in a pond one pebble at a time.

Get well soon the children of India needs you Dr.Raji

EVERY CHILD IS EVERYONE’S CHILD AND EVERY CHILD IS SAFE

Have You Goneback To Your School
I am Vrushali Naik Kurade. Being part of Srishti I had to go back to my school. Little did I know what was there in store for me. I am originally from Panjim, Goa, now residing in Bangalore. We from Srishti reached my school in the morning. The school that is an English medium school is way from the portuguese times. I had left that school, as a little girl. Now I came back to my school as a responsible citizen of this country. Raji always says, “if we don’t give back the love and care to our parents, our life is not worth it.” Your school was the place where you were first called by your official name and registered as a citizen of India.
And if you haven’t given back to the school, may be your life would not be fulfilled. It was time for me to give back to my school, I walked inside. The program started and as a part of the program, my mother was called on stage and was acknowledged. I fell on her feet and took her blessings. That moment, my mother said, was the most awesome moment as everything was so complete for her as a mother and I could express my gratitude to my mother. That moved our relationship to a whole new level. Then came a moment of WOW to me when I took the responsibility of every child of my school to be safe. In chorus the children said Hip hip hurray to me. Out of the blue, I was the celebrity in my school. Children came over and shook hands with me. Then came the moment…… there was a child who came and hugged Raji and said, “Raji you gave me the power to talk, you are my savior.” I turned and looked at Raji again, the girls friends and teacher, held her. After that it felt very fulfilling that I made a difference in her life. My life ….done deal! I was clear that this work had to reach every child of my State and the game is on!!! The work is on in every city of Goa and Srishti is reaching out from the fisher folks to the top end schools. And awareness programmes from the north to south of Goa. We work with commitment and consistency as we are clear that “EVERY CHILD IS EVERYONE’S CHILD AND EVERY CHILD IS SAFE.”

Have you gone back to your School

My God on this earth was my father and the temple was my School

I am Jyothi Bhushan. I come from the dry land in North Karnataka called as Gulbarga. Some say that Gulbarga was named after the Gulabs that were grown. But I see no roses there…. maybe it was just Cul bur gee which was spelled by the English as Gulbarga….may be or maybe not. It is the hottest town but it gave me a cool soothing space in my heart when I went back to my school. There was a little banyan tree on the corner of the road and is still there. I stood there when I saw two girls being dropped in a scooter by their father. I went down the memory lane where my father used to drop, me, my sister and my brother in one cycle; we got down at that very point.
I turned and saw my father. I never thought he had changed….. but under that banyan tree I realized that my father, the strongest, had become an old man, and me the little girl had become a young dynamic woman, heading a big project in a big MNC. This was all because of my father who was committed to me, to bring me to the school. Tears rolled down my cheeks with gratitude and even as I was wiping them, I heard Raji call me and my father into the school. We walked through the little stair case which looked very big to me then. But in reality, it was a very small. We started our program and there was a session of acknowledging the parent where I went to my father and bowed down and fell on his feet. That’s when I realized that, ‘My God on this earth was my father and the temple was my school.’ I have nothing to say…. In true sense I experienced what it is to be a daughter to a committed father and among the children I saw the future of my country, indeed very big. In spite of the school being very small, every child of that school had a genuine smile, simply because it’s my word. I returned back home, truly as number one. I was crazy of first rank and always stood first. And now I stand as the first person in Gulbarga to own up the safety of every child and it feels great!
