Some people initially come into our lives softly without so much as a
sound but leave a profound and an indelible mark on our psyche. I would like to
share with you a memorable moment where we relished the connectivity that was
established. We felt we were the ones who had contributed but it was much to
our pleasant surprise that it turned out to be such an awesome contribution that
we also ended up receiving.
I vividly remember Dr Ashok who was
recommended for this work shop by Pawan. It was the 20th of Dec and our last
workshop for the year, as the year 2014 drew to a close. Incidentally this day
also happened to be Dr Ashok's birthday, as he sat there by himself at the
workshop venue after having left his wife and son back at home. He so thoroughly
enjoyed the workshop that he wanted his wife also to come, but he was a bit
concerned about who would manage his mentally challenged son Ashish during this
period when they would attend the workshop. At the Srishti team our USP is connecting
with our fellow beings. It was therefore with joy that we connected to Ashish
who stayed with us while his parents were at the workshop. At the end of the
day it was such a pleasant and heartwarming experience when Dr Ashok came up onto
the stage and acknowledged that it was one of the best workshops he had ever
attended.
We too had a surprise in store for Dr
Ashok's since it was his birthday and every birthday definitely has to be
celebrated with a cake. Ashish was a star who thoroughly enjoyed the cake
cutting and relishing ceremony that followed. Ashish connected and communicated
with us quite well, it is just that he does not communicate using words. As the
day drew to a close, the time for Ashish to depart had finally come and he held
our hand and hesitated to go with his parents - it was really a painful picture
which is still etched in our minds and our heart. We let go and waved a bye to
Ashish.
A few days later into the start of
2015 it was good to receive a call from Dr Ashok. He wanted our awareness
program to be done for the colleagues at his workplace on 9.01.2015. We had a
program at his office and the august audience listened to us with rapt
attention. We completed our program with
a feeling of accomplishment that we had been able to contribute the knowledge
we had available to another group of people.
We came to contribute and we left
with that lovely feeling of being completed with others contributing to us in
turn, that is what we call connecting.
Message for you Dr Ashok : We miss
Ashish, please do leave him with us again. We are also your family and Ashish
is a special member for us.
